Data Backup and Recovery

We store backups of all customer data as per our guidelines. Recovery is possible when necessary, there are costs for this, and considerations of how much data you need, what past date & time you wish to recover the data to and how you want access to the data. Recovery of data can be done it three ways:

  1. Individual data fields and their values - recovered for manual re-entry; You tell us the date & time of data and the field page and label (even better get the fieldId found in the HTML) we will email you the content. Cost: AUD$25/field-value +GST

  2. Recover your entire site, viewable via a database interface like phpMyAdmin, this gives you the opportunity to download the data as you need to and manually transfer across. Cost: AUD$500 +GST to setup

  3. Recover your entire site, viewable via a CourseSales.com test environment like https://<shortname>.backup.coursesales.com, this gives you the opportunity to download the data as you need to and manually transfer necessary records across. Cost: AUD$1000 +GST to setup

We can move a backed up data set to replace ALL of your existing site. This is likely to revert your customer state back to what it was - potentially losing customer data, it is very hard, if not impossible to automatically or in bulk move part of the database back as this would lead to errors following some data dependencies being broken, eg replacing Documents might mean that Contacts connected to documents that are not in the recovered data then have missing links and deliver unexpected database errors. We can also create scripts to match data with the backup, copying over as necessary. There is an additional fee for this - and depends on the complexity of the matching and quantity of the data. Cost: to be quoted based on requirements
