How do I manage a course

Kiosk is for students sign in when they arrive at a course, this is a portal that the trainer logs into, then allows students to enter their External Reference Id to validate their details. This has the added benefit of enabling the capture or correction of information by using a form with new or existing fields

There are three types of course management;

  1. Public scheduled course
  2. Private scheduled course
  3. E-learning or continuous enrolment course

Each of these have the following components:

  • Enrolment
  • Attendance
  • Outcomes awarded
  • Completion

Public scheduled course

  1. Set up the course date - within coursesales.com (add from the course master ie Publish > Masters > Filter for the master you want to add a course do click green + button
  2. Student enrols (or you enrol the students) - within coursesales.com Courses > Dates > Filter by the category, location and start dates
  3. Students provide correct USI details and AVETMISS data - within coursesales.com by completing a form via the website or within the admin area.
  4. Student pay/do study/prework etc - can be within coursesales.com (but not always) using e-commerce features or by invoice
  5. Student attends course and demonstrations competency - outside of coursesales.com this could use the assessment plugin or it could be a workplace or classroom based assessment.
  6. Outcomes are ascertained by trainer and awarded to student (by trainer or admin) - within coursesales.com Update the document topics on the document.
  7. Admin/trainer assesses all steps above have been completed - within coursesales.com
  8. Then send the certificate or Statement of Attainment - usually within coursesales.com
  9. Complete the course once all students have been send their certificate - within coursesales.com change the status of the course to ‘completed’.
